Removal and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of a drive of GRM

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Weaken nuts of fastening of the right forward wheel. Cock the parking brake and prop up back wheels protivootkatny boots.
3. To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on props.
4. Remove the right forward wheel and a loker of protection of his arch (see. Head Body).
5. Remove all driving belts (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance).
6. Remove protection of a case and empty cooling system (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance).
7. Turn out spark plugs (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance). Bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression (see. The section Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (VMT)).
8. Disconnect radiatorny and perepuskny hoses from a thermostat casing. Remove a pulley of the water pump.

9. Remove an intermediate roller of a belt of a drive of the To/in compressor with the arm.

10. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft (see. Section Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).

Do not allow a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft in the course of pulley dismantle as it will lead to an engine conclusion from situation VMT.

11. Liberate electroconducting and hoses from clamps on the top cover of a gas-distributing belt.

12. Remove pins of a cranked shaft directing a gas-distributing belt, then turn out bolts of fastening of the top and bottom covers of a belt. Pay attention of An that fact that for fastening of covers bolts of a various standard size which at assembly should be rolled strictly on the former places are used, - put on a head of bolts the corresponding marking.

13. Make sure that the piston of the first cylinder is in the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression, - labels on cogwheels distributive and cranked shaft should be combined correctly with response indexes.

14. Having released on a half of turn a lock nut and having developed a natyazhitel on 70 ÷ 80 degrees clockwise, weaken effort of a tension of a gas-distributing belt.

15. Check a belt on existence on it of the marking specifying the direction of its orientation at installation the engine. In case of need put the corresponding marking independently by means of chalk or paint.

This requirement is meaningful only in case the old belt will not be replaced. Remove a belt from cogwheels of a drive of GRM and attentively examine on existence of cracks, signs of wear, traces of pollution by oil or cooling liquid. In case of need replace a belt. Estimate degree of wear of assembly of a natyazhitel with a spring, make sure of smoothness of rotation of a roller.

16. Estimate a condition of cogwheels, - in case of identification of signs of excessive wear or mechanical damages replace wheels.

Need with dismantle of cogwheels arises only in case of their damage, and also for the purpose of ensuring access to other components, for example, at replacement of heads of cylinders, the oil pump, a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft, or a back cover of a gas-distributing belt.

17. Having passed a screw-driver in an opening in a camshaft cogwheel, block it from a provorachivaniye and release a fixing bolt.

18. After the bolt will be turned out, the cogwheel should act in film from a shaft pin manually.

Cogwheels of the right and left camshafts are not interchangeable and are marked with the corresponding marking.

19. The description of procedure of replacement of a cogwheel of a cranked shaft is provided in the Section Replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that the prepared new belt corresponds according to the tiporazmerny characteristics to requirements of the engine of your car. On new belts three markings of the white color which existence allows to simplify substantially procedure of landing of components and alignment of their rather adjusting labels are usually provided.

Make sure also that the geometry of teeths of a belt corresponds to a design of cogwheels of a drive of GRM. On some models of early years of release bottom edges of pro-points between teeths of wheels can have a rectangular shape, on others they are rounded. - teeths of a belt should have the corresponding form. Violation of this requirement conducts to increase of a noise background at operation of the engine and to premature wear of a belt.

2. If removed a natyazhitel, establish it into place, having tracked correctness of landing of a spring. Prepare for belt installation for what develop a natyazhitel clockwise by means of a prutkovy key. Temporarily fix a natyazhitel in this situation, having tightened a lock nut.

3. Watching correctness of combination of adjusting labels, throw with a belt cogwheels of a drive of GRM. Moving counter-clockwise and trying not to leave a weak point, at first put on a belt a wheel of a cranked shaft, then throw with it a wheel of the left (forward) camshaft, then pull it on a wheel of the right (back) camshaft. In summary get a belt under a roller of a natyazhitel.

4. Manually choose a belt weak point from a natyazhitel, then weaken a nut of the last and develop assembly under 70 ÷ 80 degrees counter-clockwise. Tighten a lock nut. Make sure of correctness of combination of all three sets of adjusting labels, and also that the belt is put on by the correct party forward.

5. Slowly turn a cranked shaft clockwise on two complete revolutions, in summary again having returned it to the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression.

Excessive resistance of a shaft to a provorachivaniye says that pistons make contact with valves and, before continuing a shaft provorachivaniye, it is necessary to return to a starting position and to make the corresponding correction of situation VMT.

6. Densely (with effort about 10 kgfs) having pressed a belt on a site exactly in the middle between cogwheels of camshafts, measure size of its deflection. Demanded value should lie in a range between 13 and 15 mm.

7. If the size of a deflection does not fall outside the limits an admissible range, it is possible to consider effort of a tension of a belt adjusted correctly, otherwise, it is necessary to weaken a lock nut of a natyazhitel and to make the corresponding adjustment (see below).

At correction of a tension of a belt not to the superfluous it will be assisted the assistant.

8. Get an edge measuring щупа in the thickness of 0.35 mm in a gap between a belt and a roller of a natyazhitel according to the scheme provided on an illustration, - for retraction щупа under a belt slowly turn a cranked shaft clockwise.

9. Densely pressing a natyazhitel to an edge щупа by means of a prutkovy key, tighten a lock nut.
10. Having turned a cranked shaft, liberate an edge щупа from under a belt, then turn a shaft further on complete two revolutions, having in summary returned it to the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression.
11. Make sure of correctness of adjustment of effort of a tension of a belt.

If to achieve demanded effort of a tension of the belt which was in the use it is not possible, it is necessary to make its replacement.

12. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be the return to an order of their dismantle.
