Ignition system - the general information and precautionary measures

The system of ignition serves for ignition in the fullness of time submitted to chambers of combustion of the engine of an air and fuel mix. This task is carried out at the expense of generation of a high-voltage electric arch between electrodes screwed in each of cylinders of spark plugs.

Models 1993 and 1994 of вып.

On models 1993 and 1994 of вып. the SOHC engine equipped with electronic system of ignition, consisting of the distributor placed in it of the sensor of provision of a camshaft, the power transistor, the coil of ignition, resistive and capacitor assembly and connecting electroconducting of VV and NV of contours is established.

The sensor of provision of a camshaft gives out basic signals on the onboard processor exercising the general administration of functioning of system of ignition. By information of RSM arriving from the sensor determines such critical parameters of the engine as frequency of its rotation and position of pistons in cylinders and calculates the demanded moment and duration of operation of each of injectors of injection of fuel. The sensor of provision of a camshaft consists of a rotor plate and a set of light and photo diodes. The sensor develops a signal of a sinusoidal form. On the basis of the analysis of characteristics of this signal of RSM develops teams of management of functioning of system of ignition. The power transistor serves for strengthening of a signal of ignition developed by the processor and instant grounding of primary contour of the coil of the ignition which secondary winding during this moment develops VV a signal sent on special wires of big section through the distributor on spark plugs.

RSM accepts a set of signals from various sensors and on the basis of the analysis of arriving information, via the power transistor and the coil of ignition exercises administration in such parameters, as distribution and a corner of an advancing of ignition (the Control system for more details see in Head of the engine).

RSM on the basis of the signals arriving from the sensor of a detonation, carries out also control of efficiency of ignition of an air and fuel mix, correcting as required a corner of an advancing of ignition. Use of the sensor of a detonation allows system to support a corner of an advancing of ignition at a maximum level, providing with that optimum conditions for functioning of the power unit and allowing to achieve the greatest efficiency of return from the engine at the minimum fuel consumption.

In VV candle wires the coal conductor concluded in a rubber insulating shirt and an external silicone protective tube is used. Wires of such design are capable to maintain high temperatures, providing thus reliable isolation of the conductor on which VV a current is passed. Silicone tips provide tightness of landing of VV plugs of wires on shafts of spark plugs. Before a wire detachment from a candle it is necessary to turn on a half of turn a tip (Settings for more details see in Head and routine maintenance).

Models since 1995 вып.

Since 1995 on Nissan Maxima cars started to establish the system of direct ignition working without the distributor. The structure of system includes six individual coils, connected directly to the corresponding spark plugs. RSM defines an ignition order on the basis of the signals arriving from sensors of provision of distributive and cranked shaft. Besides, the management module constantly accepts signals from some other the information sensors which are continuously tracing working parameters of the engine, and on the basis of the analysis of arriving data, develops optimum installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition.

The system structure also includes the detonation sensor that allows RSM to support optimum value of a corner of an advancing of ignition.
