System of catching of fuel evaporations (EVAP) - the general information, check of a condition and replacement of components

General information

The EVAP system accumulates accumulating in a power supply system during car parking fuel evaporations and provides a conclusion them to the inlet highway for burning in the course of normal functioning of the engine. The structure of any EVAP system surely includes the special adsorber filled with absorbent carbon which, actually, and collects in itself fuel evaporations. The adsorber is connected by tubes to a fuel tank, besides, the design of system provides giving possibility in a depression adsorber from inlet port of the engine and the inlet pipeline


When the engine is muffled, accumulating in a fuel tank, the case of a throttle and the inlet pipeline fuel evaporations on connecting tubes are deduced in a coal adsorber where are stored till engine start. At engine start the adsorber is blown and the evaporations which have accumulated in it are taken away to the inlet highway, from where arrive in combustion chambers.

On models 1993 and 1994 of вып., and also on models of 1995 вып, federal legislations getting under action, the vacuum valve switch of management by a purge it is established from above on an adsorber. On the Californian models of 1995 вып. and all models since 1996 вып. the electronic valve of management by the adsorber purge, working at the command of RSM is used. The structure of an electronic control system includes also locking valve, allowing to stop an adsorber purge on single turns and during braking by the engine.

3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove an adsorber.
