Check of serviceability of a condition, replacement and adjustment of the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS)

The representing potentiometer of variable resistance of TPS fastens on the case of a throttle and is connected to a butterfly valve axis. On the basis of the analysis of signals of RSM arriving from TPS defines the exact current provision of a zaslonka caused by extent of squeezing by the driver of a pedal of gas. The sensor exit out of operation can lead to uncontrollable emissions by injectors of fuel and violation of stability of turns of the engine. At identification of malfunctions of TPS in memory of system of self-diagnostics the corresponding code of malfunction (is brought see. On the majority of models the structure of TPS includes the terminal sensor switch opened / a butterfly valve closed position, into the corresponding moments carrying out short circuit of predelenny electric contours.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Performance described below procedure can lead to entering in memory of OBD of malfunction which will be highlighted by a control lamp “Check the engine”. On termination of check and the corresponding regenerative repair do not forget to clear memory of system (see. The section System of onboard diagnostics (OBD) - a principle of functioning and codes of malfunctions).

1. Before starting directly check of TPS make sure of serviceability of giving of a food from RSM to TPS and absence of violations of grounding. Disconnect from TPS electroconducting and connect positive щуп the voltmeter to the plug green-black (1993 and 1994) / red (with 1995) plait wires in the contact socket. Negative щуп connect to the plug of a black wire. At the included ignition (do not start the engine) the device should register about 5.0 V.Otsutstviye tension testifies to break in a chain of RSM or failure actually the module (in the latter case the car should be driven away on car repair shop for the purpose of carrying out diagnostics of the module of management and performance of the corresponding regenerative repair).

2. For check of serviceability of functioning of TPS connect an ohmmeter to plugs No. 2 and No. 3 sensors. Measure resistance of TPS in completely closed position of a throttle, then start to slightly open gradually a zaslonka, watching change of resistance of the sensor. On models 1993 and 1994 of вып. the indication of a measuring instrument should change from 1.0 kiloohms at completely closed zaslonka to 9.0 kiloohms at the completely open. On models since 1995 вып. - from 0.5 kiloohms to 4.0 kiloohms respectively. The increase in resistance should occur smoothly.

3. Disconnect electroconducting from the terminal sensor switch opened/closed butterfly valve provisions. Connect an ohmmeter to No. No. 5 and 6 plugs of the socket of the sensor. Make sure available conductivity of the sensor switch to completely closed zaslonka, then slightly slightly open the last. At an open zaslonka conductivity should be absent, otherwise replace TPS assembly.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

 If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for equipment introduction in action!

2. Remove an inlet air line (see. Head of the Power supply system and release) also disconnect electroconducting from TPS and the terminal sensor switch of a butterfly valve.
3. Turn out two fixing screws and remove TPS assembly from the throttle case.
4. Establish the new sensor on the regular place and freely screw fixing screws.
5. Execute TPS adjustment (see below), then finally tighten fixture.

ADJUSTMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove an inlet air line (see. Head of the Power supply system and release).
2. Weaken screws of fastening of assembly of TPS on the throttle case.
3. On the models equipped with the terminal sensor switch of completely opened/closed of provisions of a zaslonka disconnect from the last electroconducting and connect an ohmmeter according to the instructions stated in paragraph 4. enter an edge measuring щупа in the thickness of 0.3 mm between the lever of a butterfly valve and its persistent screw, - the device should register conductivity existence. Now enter into a gap an edge in thickness of 0.4 mm, - this time the chain should appear opened. Rotation of TPS achieve demanded result, then strongly tighten fixing screws.

 At all do not touch the persistent screw of the lever of a butterfly valve, - it has factory installation and to adjustment is not subject!

4. On models without the terminal sensor switch of a butterfly valve probe the voltmeter the return ends of plugs of white and black wires on the socket of a plait of electroconducting of TPS (try not to damage plugs at input щупов, - Onboard electric equipment for more details see in Head). At the included ignition (the engine do not start) and at completely closed throttle the device should register the indication in a range about 0.4 ÷ 0.5 In, otherwise make the corresponding adjustment by rotation of assembly of TPS, then strongly tighten fixing screws.
