Check of a condition and replacement of the sensor of temperature of soaked-up air (IAT)

The IAT sensor represents a termistor (the resistor which resistance depends temperatures). The sensor is established in an inlet air line and serves for determination of temperature of air soaked up in the engine. Change of resistance involves change of amplitude of alarm tension of the sensor, and, than the temperature is HIGHER, than subjects BELOW resistance, and on the contrary. RSM uses information issued by the sensor at thin adjustments of a dosage of an air and fuel mix. Sensor/violation refusals in its electric chain lead to record in memory of system of self-diagnostics of the corresponding code of malfunction (see.  PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Performance described below procedure can lead to entering in memory of OBD of malfunction which will be highlighted by a control lamp “Check the engine”. On termination of check and the corresponding regenerative repair do not forget to clear memory of system (see. The section System of onboard diagnostics (OBD) - a principle of functioning and codes of malfunctions).

1. Before starting directly an assessment of a condition of the sensor, make sure of serviceability of giving of a food on it from RSM and in lack of signs of violations of grounding. Disconnect from the IAT sensor electroconducting and connect the voltmeter to two plugs of the socket from a plait. Include ignition (the engine do not start), - the measuring instrument should issue the indication 5.0 In, otherwise check an electroconducting condition on a chain site between the sensor and RSM. If a chain as it should be, drive away the car on car repair shop for carrying out diagnostics of a condition of RSM and performance of the corresponding regenerative repair.
2. At the switched-off ignition disconnect from the IAT sensor electroconducting and by means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between two plugs of the socket of the sensor at the cold engine. Restore initial connection of electroconducting, start the engine and warm up it to normal working temperature. Again disunite the socket and repeat resistance measurement. Compare results of two measurements to the schedule of temperature dependence of the sensor. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement.

 Thinner check of a condition of the IAT sensor can be made out of the car and creation of the full schedule of temperature dependence by lowering in water warmed up on fire.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect from the IAT sensor electroconducting.
2. Take the sensor from an inlet air line (try not to damage plastic components).
3. Installation is made upside-down.
